chit at work
A Fireflies alternative for in-person meetings
Fireflies is a capable meeting assistant and its CRM-adjacent workflows are the reason a lot of sales teams run it. The reason people search for an alternative is usually one of two specific things, and neither is about transcript quality.
The two reasons people look
The first is the bot in front of a client. An assistant that appears in the participant list has to be explained, and in a first meeting with an enterprise buyer that explanation costs more than the notes are worth. Internally nobody minds. Externally it is a live etiquette question.
The second is coverage. A tool that joins scheduled calls covers scheduled calls. The field visit, the conference-room demo at the customer's office, the trade show booth, the dinner, the drive back — all of them are where enterprise deals actually move, and none of them have anything to join.
What a card covers instead
chit is hardware. Hold the button through the meeting, or recap it in the parking lot afterwards: the pain in their words, the metric they named, who the champion is, the objection, the next step you both agreed to. By evening it is a transcript with those next steps pulled out, before the details rot into a CRM note written three days later from memory — which is the least reliable data in any pipeline.
It works offline, which matters more than it sounds: a trade show floor has thousands of phones on one set of towers and effectively no usable signal.
What it does not do
It does not write into your CRM. First-party agents that do that are coming, and until they ship we will describe them as coming rather than implying otherwise. Today you get the meeting back as a transcript with the tasks pulled out, ready to paste.
So if your only requirement is automatic CRM write-back on video calls, a bot-based tool is the better fit and you should keep it. The honest positioning is that chit covers the meetings your current tool cannot attend, and plenty of reps run both.

Good questions
Does chit write to my CRM?
Not yet — first-party agents for that are coming. Today you get a transcript with the next steps pulled out, ready to paste.
Does a bot show up in my meetings?
No. There is no participant and no invite. It is a card you hold.
Will it work at a trade show with no signal?
Yes. Capture needs no connection; the transcript arrives when the device next syncs.
Should I replace Fireflies with this?
Only if a meaningful share of your meetings happen off video. If everything you need covered is a scheduled call, keep what you have — many reps run both and use each for what it reaches.
