Almost every plumbing dispute is a disagreement about a sentence somebody said in a basement. You quoted a repipe, opened a wall, found galvanised where copper should be, and told the customer it would be another eight hundred — and they said fine. Two weeks later fine is not what they remember. Hold the button and say it while you are standing there: what you found, what it changes, what they agreed to. The transcript keeps the words and the timestamp. It also keeps the fixture models and the pipe sizes you would otherwise be reconstructing from memory at nine at night, which is the other half of why job notes never get written.
